Today began with an early breakfast at Don and Paul’s,
a favorite coffee shop of many locals –and it quickly becomes well known to
Loopers when they arrive in Waterford. Don & Paul’s is known for good food,
fast service, and inexpensive prices! From there we walked to Lock 2 which is
the start of the Erie Canal lock system. The Lock master was very friendly and
helped us understand the process of locking. We were able to stand at the top
of the lock and watch a boat “lock through”.
We will not be going through this lock as we plan to go to Lake
Champlain north into Canada.
We spent much of the day doing boat chores – these
never cease though we are traveling! We
were happy to see Moor $tuff and Rickshaw arrive this afternoon. The canal
wall was fairly full so Rickshaw rafted to us. We all met for appetizers on
Quest and then had dinner on Rickshaw.
Bill grilled the chicken and everyone brought side dishes. It was a fun evening shared with good Looper
friends! We will meet for breakfast Saturday at Don & Paul's!.JPG) |
