June 11, 2013 Day 20  The Hudson River
The Hudson River Maritime Museum Dock
Kingston, NY

Big log came floating came down the creek!
Our day-to-day plans on the Loop have always required flexibility and today was no different. We learned that Locks 6-13 on the Erie Canal are closed due to high water and excessive current.  We had planned to go to Waterford (where we will begin traveling on the Erie Canal), but that changed after a phone call to the Visitors Center.  Their town wall is full of boaters waiting for the locks to open.  So, we will stay here in Kingston until Friday where we have a spot!  We will anchor out Friday night and go to Waterford on Saturday, if it is open.
Wish we needed firewood!

We spent today doing more boat chores, and some visiting with other Loopers. Jim and Linda on Symmetry II came down for a visit before lunch, and Rick and Margi visited with us after dinner.  More Loopers arrived today and the dock is full!

We had dinner on board tonight.  The crab imperial that we bought in Delaware City made a good, quick meal!

We had a brief shower this evening with a beautiful rainbow.  A nice way to end the day.

Tomorrow will be a sightseeing day with other Loopers. Even though we toured West Point last year, we will go back with Bob & Bonnie and Rick & Margi.
